The Producers Club of Maryland The Producers Club of Maryland, Inc., the organizing entity of the Maryland Film Festival, was launched as a 501(c)(3) corporation in 1993 at a special pre-release screening of Sleepless in Seatle attended by Nora Ephron and some of the Maryland cast and crew. It has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support the economic development work of the Maryland Film Office and Baltimore Film Commission. Full Members donate a minimum of $500 annually, and Associate Members donate a minimum of $50 annually. There are over 400 people representing a wide variety of business interests currently involved in the Producers Club. The Producers Club owns the Maryland Regional Production Guide, the only comprehensive "yellow pages" for film and television production companies; has its own Web site geared to the Guide (www.mdrpg.com); publishes a newsletter, ReelNews; and organizes an annual production conference, REELMaryland. The Producers Club funds and administers the Production Club of Maryland Filmmakers Fellowship each year in partnership with Sundance Labs. The Producers Club has organized numerous premier screenings and marketing events on both coasts. |
