In June of 1985 drummer Roger Taylor left the pop sensations Duran Duran at the height of their success. Over a decade later, filmmaker Aaron Barnett travels the globe, from Canada to the United Kingdom to the United States in search of his childhood rock idol. His quest serves as a spring board into a much larger investigation into the music of the '80s. Through interviews with Stewart Copeland (The Police), Jerry Casale (Devo), Tony Hadley (Spandau Ballet), Anabella Irwin (Bow Wow Wow), and Gary Numan among others, Barnett explores the rise of New Wave and the birth of MTV. Barnett's journey seeks to understand more than the disappearance of a man, his film is a search for a lost era-an era when Frankie said "Relax", when mousse was on the loose, and when the "M" in MTV stood for music.

Duran Duran got their name from the robot in the Jane Fonda sci-fi classic Barbarella.

Bio:
Aaron Barnett graduated from Toronto's York University film production program in 1996 and immediately dove headlong into the film industry. He tasted success by co-writing and producing the award winning short The Little Things, but this soon replaced by the bitter taste of a failed attempt to make a feature with a disreputable producer. After directing and producing the pilot of a television series for the prestigious Royal Ontario Museum, Aaron set out to make Searching for Roger Taylor.
