This
documentary tells the legendary story of Cynthia Plaster Caster,
who has been making and collecting life-size casts of male
rock stars' genitalia for over three decades. Framed around
Cynthia's recent gallery retrospective at New York's Threadwaxing
Space, Plaster Caster covers every angle of Cynthia's story:
the very early days of casting classic rock stars like Jimi
Hendrix, Noel Redding, Eric Burdon, and MC5's Wayne Kramer;
her "sponsorship" from Frank Zappa and lawsuit with his manager
over the ownership of her casts; her friendship with famous
groupie, Pamela Des Barres; and interviews with her recent
casting participants and lifelong fans, including the Make
Up's Ian Svenonius, the Revolting Cocks' Chris Connelly, Momus,
Dead Kennedy's Jello Biafra, the Buzzcocks' Pete Shelly, the
Mekons' Jon Langford, Camille Paglia, and many others. Find
out what it's like to be one of Cynthia's "castees", as she
attempts, on camera, to make new casts of two modern musicians:
one a shy indie-rocker, the other an extroverted sleaze-rocker.
