A young, married, yuppie couple take a weekend trip to the Catskills to "get away from it all." Along the way they pick up a hitchhiker who ends up spending more time with them then they had planned. As the weekend progresses, the hitchhiker forces the couple to reconsider their lifestyles, marriage, and their relationship to nature.

Inspired by Roman Polanski's Knife In The Water, Kaaterskill Falls is an edgy thriller, subtly packed with emotional, psychological, and sexual tension. Shot on 16mm film in thirteen days with a two-person crew, the film was completely improvised by the three cast members, based on a story loosely structured by the two directors. So far it has received two IFP/West Independent Spirit Award nominations and won the Critic's Jury Prize at the 2001 IFP/West Los Angeles Film Festival.
