NARRATIVE SHORTS PROGRAM #2

Saturday, May 8, 5:00 PM, Charles Theatre 3

RICHARD – Kelly Williams (5:00)
An awkward young boy daydreams about one day becoming a stand-up comedian. He takes every chance he gets to practice his routine, even if it means missing recess. Problem is, his classmates don’t appreciate his unique brand of humor.

TACKLE BOX – Matthew Mebane (10:00)
An elderly couple enjoyed fishing the Lowcountry waters for decades. When they are separated by death, the story turns on the strange and lingering effect of the old woman’s passion for fishing, a love so powerful that it ultimately leads a group of thrill-seeking losers to a peculiar redemption.

THE DASHING DINER – Gregg Watt (17:00)
Just released from prison, two men with a taste for fine cuisine decide the stability they crave in life can only be found in one place: back in prison. They must find a way into their high-security haven, and enjoy some fine dining along the way.

LOVE & STUFF – Sorrel Ahlfeld (30:00)
“Losing a loved one is hard, but their memory will never fade. And now, with Professional Plastination, neither will their smile!” reads the brochure for The Right Stuff, a family owned Taxidermy Studio. When Simon took over the business he knew to never get attached to a client; after all, there’s nothing more awkward than having to work on someone you know. But when a sculptor, Lele, turns up at his shop asking about a personal mounting, he falls hard. She’s beautiful, vibrant and creative but she harbors a deadly secret.

LYCKANTROPEN - Steve Ericsson (29:00)
In a quiet neighborhood of a small city we find a family in turmoil as a man struggles for balance in his relations to himself and his family. Wrestling an inferno of emotions, he ventures deeply into himself, finding the most primal of all truths… the beast within.
