Monica and Devon are a young couple at a crucial point in their relationship; she’s ready to get married, but he’s not so sure.  That makes it perhaps not the best time for the couple to spend an entire weekend with Devon’s comically dysfunctional family as they get together for his aunt’s renewal of wedding vows ceremony.  Like most families, Devon’s harbors old resentments, power struggles, and petty squabbling mixed within the familial love.  To top it off, Devon’s mom seems to have it out for Monica (or perhaps for any woman that Devon might bring home.)

The entire tale is told through the viewpoint of Devon’s video camera, which he has brought with him to document the nuptial renewal.  The weekend activities are recorded as various family members take control of the camera and catch conversations, sometimes unknowingly.  Through the weekend, Devon may come to realize what he has with Monica, but spending that much time with his family may convince her that she wants no part of it.
