Told in the style of a classic silent horror
film, The Call Of Cthulhu is a faithful adaptation of H.P.
Lovecraft's famous story about a man who inherits a collection
of documents pertaining to an ancestor's research on the
Cthulhu Cult. As the man studies the documents, he begins
to uncover the dreaded secret of a great evil at work, involving
ancient sea creatures waiting to rule the world. Spanning
several decades and taking place all over the world, The
Call Of Cthulhu is equal parts adventure, suspense and horror.
The film impressively utilizes many old-fashioned in-camera
visual effects, along with a powerful musical score and
black & white cinematography.

In this throwback to the days of silent films, a village is consistently robbed and taken advantage of by Doctor Femerlin, an inventor using his new hypnotizing machine. The strange behavior of the townspeople only adds to the confusion of a newly arrived ex-con who is immune to the Doctor's invention. |
