In 2004, the members of the internationally
renowned, New York-based, indie-rock quartet, Luna, announced
that after 12 years, 7 studio albums, 2 mini-LPs, 1 live
album, and near-constant touring, they were calling it quits.
Tell Me Do You Miss Me documents the final six months of
the band's existence, as they tour Europe, Japan, and the
United States promoting their final album, Rendezvous. From
the band meeting to discuss the wording of the press release
announcing their break-up, to the band's final show at NY's
Bowery Ballroom in February of 2005 (and a small peek at
the days following the final bow), this documentary allows
Luna fans a chance to see Dean Wareham, Sean Eden, Lee Wall,
and Britta Phillips as they have never seen them before.
Personal and private moments at home, backstage, in hotel
rooms, and in the van work to demystify the Luna image and
show the human beings behind the music. For those unfamiliar
with Luna, this documentary serves as a lush travelogue,
exposing the darker side of touring with a rock band in
the days leading up to its demise.
The film allows Luna the opportunity to offer their explanation
for breaking up, as well as demonstrate reasons why "touring
musician" might not be the best career choice for people
approaching middle-age. Luna's unique style - often dry
and sedate though no less beautiful and hypnotizing - is
what earned them glowing reviews and a strong cult following,
while at the same time it is what may have held them back
from greater commercial success. The pace of this documentary
is much like Luna's music, in that at times it is slow and
not demanding of attention but overall makes a powerful
statement. It is a love letter, tribute, explanation and
remembrance.

Eden, Lee Wall
Multi-award-winning filmmaker Matthew Buzzell
received his M.F.A. in Directing from the American Film
Institute. His thesis film, 6 and a half, received The Martin
Ritt Foundation Award and the SACD Prize at the 1999 Brussels
International Film Festival. In 2001, The Teresa Heinz Foundation
commissioned Matthew's documentary What A Girl Wants, dealing
with the influence of media culture on the self-esteem of
teenage girls. Matthew’s feature documentary, Jimmy
Scott: If You Only Knew, about jazz vocal legend Jimmy Scott,
screened at many festivals including the 2003 Maryland Film
Festival, was later broadcast on PBS’s Independent
Lens, and released internationally from Rhino Home Video.
His most recent film, Putting The River In Reverse, is a
short documentary, also showing in the 2006 Maryland Film
Festival.
Sean Eden and Lee Wall played guitar and
drums (respectively) in Luna. The band has contributed music
to films including Sideways, Kill Me Later, Mr. Jealousy,
I Shot Andy Warhol, and Thursday. The band’s music
has also been featured in ad campaigns for American Express,
Calvin Klein and Volvo. Lee Wall attended Manhattan School

in a Houston suburb before receiving a B.F.A. in Acting
from the North Carolina School of the Arts Professional

has supplied the score for the award-winning documentary
film What a Girl Wants, and has written music segments for
the AMC cable channel, PBS, the independent feature I'm
Losing You (Strand Releasing), and many commercials, most
notably a long-running instrumental for the American Express
"Amex Blue" ad campaign. Currently, Sean is recording
his first solo album, and he recently produced and collaborated
on an album of music inspired by the Monte Hellman film,
Two-Lane Blacktop, and the music of Ennio Morricone.
